The work of the legendary Elaine Lustig Cohen straddles the worlds of graphic design and art, public facing work and introspective expression. The American designer lived from 1927 to 2016.
She is best known for her modernist graphic design work from a perspective that was uniquely her own. Lustig Cohen was a pioneer in that she was a leading female graphic designer in the mid-20th century, although her work expands beyond the world of graphic design. Lustig Cohen designed everything from book jackets, type faces, and museum catalogues, to logos, advertisements, and building signage; and made all kinds of art, including paintings, collages and prints.
